Advice on positioning your hot tub

Indoors

Special considerations must be met before indoor installations, especially in a small room. The room should be properly ventilated to allow moisture and excess heat to escape. Using your hot tub for 15-20 minutes releases the equivalent moisture as a shower of the same duration. Install of a bathroom fan or other venting system is a good idea to prevent excess condensation in the room. You will also need to verify that the floor will support the filled weight of the hot tub with occupants. Your local building department or a structural engineer can help you in determining that requirement. Check your hot tubs specification for the estimated weight of the filled unit.

Outdoors

Most people purchase a hot tub for the garden, this being the case you will need a firm level surface such as a concrete base or decking. Bear in mind installing on a lawn or on gravel without a path or other suitable walkway will result in an increase in the amount of debris that is inadvertently brought into the spa on a user's feet.
